Advice on equipment list for a DIY sump.
Alright long story short I have a 40b that looks like trash and has algae all over it. I'm only running polyfilter for waste removal and religious water changes. After having almost all my snails die along with my tuxedo urchin (RIP Steve French) I've decided to make an upgrade to my welfare tank and attach a 20L sump to it. I've decided I only can spend a max of $350 on everything. I wish I could spare more but alas I am about to be losing my shirt from tuition. So the equipment I've decided on is a Bubble Magnus Curve 5 skimmer, a Jebao DCT 4000, and a PF-800 Eshopps overflow. Which comes out to about $315. I have to pump up around 3.5 ft up and the sump will have a refugium for macro algae. My questions for the good folk of the internet are: Does this equipment combo sound alright? And does anyone have any things that they do/don't like about these products?
