Synergy Reef Shadow Overflow minimum flow rate?

Anyone know what the slowest I could run a beananimal that has three 1.5 drains and have it still work? I have a Synergy Reef Shadow Overflow. It's 16 inches long from my old larger build. My new build is only a 20G with a 20G sump. I know it's overkill but I would like to run my Shadow Overflow instead of buying a new one.

The rate I would like is 200-250g/h but I'm not sure I could run this slow with this overflow.

Go with an Eclipse L overflow, has 3 drains for bean animal but are 1". I would think lower flow would not be an issue since the main drain is dialed in with a gate valve.

You can run it as slow as you want; it's just a matter of closing down the gate valve on the primary siphon.

Assuming that they do not use 1.5" plumbing all the way but instead drop down to something more reasonable sure..
But its characteristics will change drastically if you plan on using the same pipe size a you were on the other tank..

Thats why they make reducers though.. Just reduce down right away and go for it..

ok, thanks all. That's what I thought. I probably will just use the Shadow since I already have it and haven't cute holes yet. Better than buying a new smaller overflow.

I would reduce down at the bulkhead & use 1” plumbing. U can run whatever u want with the overflow box but u will have some issues trying to run 200 gph through 1.5” plumbing. I like to have as long of a overflow box as possible, so for me it would be the perfect size
