Refugium lighting

Going to finish set up of my refugium and add chaeto and pods. Any lighting requirements?

I use a 250w 10,000K halide to light mine lol. You can use whatever really, but expect varying results based on what you put in.

BRS did a whole 3 part video series on the different refugium lighting options, just google BRS investigates refugiums.

Good luck!

I got a reflector and socket from Home Depot with the little clamp hanger on it and crammed a 100w CFL bulb in it. Pretty? No. It grows though.

I just bought a 150w UFO LED from eBay for $27. Didn’t receive it yet, but seems like a lot of light for the money.

I have to second the YouTube videos from BRS on the refugium lighting. Pretty solid evidence. I’d love to get one of those Kessils.

I have had really good results with this bulb and a clamp lamp after only a month. The first photo is when I added my chaeto 1/25 the second is photo is today. It is very dense and probably time to trim it back.
