Damsels/Chromis Compatibility

Everything I read about Damsels/Chromis says they will school together but the dominant one will kill the weak one over and over again until you're eventually left with one. What if they are all different kinds? What if I have a blue/green chromis, a yellowtail damsel, and an azure damsel for example. Since they are all different will they stick to themselves and not pick on the weakling? I don't know all the different types, these 3 are just examples, but I'd like to get 5ish of chromis and damsels, each a different type. I have a 90 gallon tank.

Excellent write-up on damsels by Sk8tr:

Some damsels are nasty and some are mild mannered.

Your understanding of the chromis is pretty accurate. They will tolerate each other, depending on tank size. 1-3 is probably the number for your 90 gallon.

The two other damsels you mentioned (both in the Chrysiptera genus) would be among the most mild mannered of the damsel family.

You're welcome. I did say it was an excellent write-up.

That girl loves her damsels.
