Anemone hiding in back

I just picked up an anemone two days ago. The first day he looked great but he was on the back of my rockwork so I took a large rock and placed it above him so he would move to the other side for light. Today he is still in the same place but upside down on that rock. Is this normal? Also, does anyone have any advice on flow? I have two mp10s on 50 percent reef crest mode on each side.

Thanks!

IME it's kind of a waiting game with Anemones. Assuming your parameters are within reason and the lighting is sufficient it's just a matter of time before the Anemone finds a good spot and anchors down so to say.

What kind of Anemone is it BTW?

Most of mine like to be on the underside of rocks, then poke out during the day to get to the light.

Depends on the nem, I have two bubble tips, one is still light acclimating and acts like you described the other hangs out in the open most of the time. My long tentacle is in it's sand/rock crevasse. My rock nems are in a mix of light and partial shaded but seem happy and never move and my mini maxi is under a slight outcropping. If it seems happy or unhappy just leave it be, it will find it's happy place. I've stopped looking for "normal" behavior in nems personally they all have little querks imo.

If he's stuck to a place and not totally retracted or inside out, he's fine
Just let him be....every time you change something....he might start to move...
It's just been two days, give him a few weeks to a month...

They often seem to be in the one place you can’t easily see the.
