What's wong with it?

He's just sitting near the outlet not moving much, scales kinda dark. Not sure why, he was just swimming around the tank like a maniac a second ago.

When I put food in there his scales turned back to their normal color as he swam around like a but after the food. Then he assumed the previous position

Clearly PTSD...
I'd suggest taking it to the psychiatrist for some professional help..
That or just feed him some MDMA..

If he's eating that is a very good sign. He could just be nervous for some reason or another...fish can be weird at times.

Any new additions? Turning darker sounds like stress colors. Maybe he is being bothered by another fish?

No . . . he's the only fish in there . . . though he did leave his cave earlier than usual. I'm starting to suspect something more sinister

I'm thinking that one of those darn bristle worms disturbed him while he was sleeping in his cave. Which is why he woke up so early and why he's sleeping now
