Copepod outbreak?

I added copepods to my refugium and now I have little whit “bugs” ALL OVER my display. They are all over my glass and if you stare at the rocks they are covered. Can too many copepods cause problems?

No! That’s a good thing that you should encourage. Many people pay money to have your “problem”. That’s the BEST fish food ever. Plus they are part of the microfauna and flora that keeps your tank clean. You can’t beet the nutrition packed in that little package. I breed and sell copepods amongst other things.

They will self-regulate. If there's "too many" some will die off until a balance is reached or until you add a wrasse.

My pod population goes up and down with conditions of the tank. Let them go. If there are too many, they'll die off a little.

Not sure what you "thought" was going to happen...
Nor why you would think they could be harmful in some way..

All is fine..

If you don’t have any fish eating the pods, they will start eating your sps corals. Just google it. I did not believe it till it happened to my tank. It was like a scene from a horror movie. When I shined a flashlight into my tank, pods completely covered a huge milli colony.

I now have two wrasses in my tank and not a single pod in sight, day or night.
