Once tiny now GIANTPITHIC Emerald Crab

Six to eight months ago I bought 2 tiny emerald crabs both light green and a small one spot fox face for my 80 gallon reef. I've been battling a outbreak of grape caulerpa and bubble algae for some time was told they will help eliminate or at least get it under control. So fast forward in less six months I notice the entire caulerpa patches are completely cleaned off. I mean it took me hours just to tweezer yank small handful of runners and forget the reset this is just plain picked clean. Figured it was the rabbit fish since I spot him hourly eating the stuff always chewing and fat. Several days ago I spot a GIANT dark green emerald crab hes about 3" from claw to claw maybe even 4 inches. Did I just luck out with a juvenile rabbit fish and a single emerald crab? He runs when I try and take a picture but was able to get his claw. How did he get from 1/2" to that size in that time frame? The other emerald is still tiny and turned grey. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine removing caulerpa from my algae scrubber drop in display tank just to feed these guys.

Not sure about the cat (RIP) but if that monster crab is anything like how the blob grew in the movie Trump will have another disaster issue to deal with!
