Is there any reason why I shouldn't..
Use a hose from outside my house through my window to fill up my tank for the test fill and to check for leaks, etc. Or should I carry 80 buckets to fill up the tank?
Just making sure there isn't something in the hose that could mess with the tank later for whatever reason.

Not really. As long as there is someone outside to turn the hose off.
You can also drain the tank by siphoning the water, with a hose, through the window, to your favorite tree. After that I would rinse the tank with few gallons of RODI water to remove any minerals left from the tap water. |
