To Reef Central

Hi, first of all, a little more information would be helpful:

- Tank description (size, age, type of filtration, stocking level, cleaning/additive schedule, etc)
- what is your Nitrite reading?
- what "other readings" are you taking, and what are the results?

With a little more info, we may be able to give an answer that helps.

Kevin

With a 4 yr old tank, there shouldn't be any nitrite. I would suspect testing error and not worry about it.

Are any animals having trouble?

First thing I would do is test it with another test kit to make sure u actually have nitrite & it isn’t a bad test kit. It isn’t likely but If u truly do have nitrite then something may have got into the tank & killed off the bacteria causing another cycle.

As was said, after 4 years, you shouldn't have nitrite, unless something affected your biofilter bacteria.

Phosphate is a little high for having zero nitrates. Having copper is a red flag as well. DO you have a history of having measurable copper?
