File fish. In. Nano tanks?

Edit: said they would be excellent, read firefish not file fish.

Better answer:That would depend on species and nano tank size.

what kind of filefish?

some filefish get very large, others are very active swimmers.

my Orange Spotted Filefish are extremely active, and used to do a lot of stress pacing in my 35 cube. they appreciate the space in my 160 oceanic, and would probably enjoy more room if i could give it to them.

Really depends upon the size of the "nano" tank, and what other inhabitants. My matted filefish would be fine in the 20 gallon tank in your signature. It mostly hovers over the rock and picks at things (ie, not a very active swimmer). However, if you already had six fish in your nano, or maybe a tang, I would probably argue against it as a biofiltration and carrying capacity issue.

I. had orange spotted filefish- pair. Which did quite well in a 55 gallon FOWLR many. Years ago . They seemed to be Interesting and inquisitive fish.
