Rusted Door Hinges
Does anyone know the best way to clean and get rid of rust off of aquarium door hinges?

wire wheel in a drill, then repaint. You will, of course, have to remove the hinges for this. If they are (or were) bright brass then Brasso or similar to get the shine back, then spray with clear finish to seal them.
hth It may be easier to just replace them.

3 in 1 oil or WD40 should keep it moving.
Sorry, do you have visible hinges and its just aesthetics?

I would be VERY wary of using any kind of cleaning chemicals near a reef tank. I fully agree with the suggestions to just replace the hinges; but if you must try to clean them then take the doors off first and do it away from the tank. Also, that they rusted in the first place suggests that some kind of cabinet ventilation is called for.

With new metal hinges best rust preventative is WD40 specialist corrosion protection. New hinges will last longer. As indicated above do not treat on or near tank
