carbon media in reactor with a gap
is this ok? a gap was created when I started water flow between the media and bottom filter sponge...

looks like rox carbon or some finer version. it wont cause any real issues other than the carbon itself getting into the sponge pours and clogging it a bit. if using fine carbon or rox you may want to put a TLF valve on the reactor eventually so you can slow the flow a bit to prevent that (rox=very efficient, thus less flow needed). the sponges in reactors sustain significant flow so if your pushing lots of water it will push the rox or finer grain carbons up into the top sponge.
filter floss is a good pre and post filter for finer carbons and rox.
