Dosing vinegar

I am considering dosing vinegar to remedy a little green algae problem.
Read the article on reefkeepers and still have a few questions.
1) how much and how often should I be adding. My system’s total water volume is 70 gallons. 75 gal DT and 30 gal sump. Assume I am using the 5% vinegar that the article recommended.
2) where should I add the vinegar?
I have read that ideally it should be added just upstream of the skimmer.
In my system this would be in the overflow box. I have a corner overflow with a herbie drain setup. Is this a good location and should I add a little live rock in the overflow box to give the bacteria a place to latch onto?

I've always just dumped it straight into my tank. You build up the dose, there is a table around here somehwere about how to step up doses weekly until you hit top dose.

Dump it in the same chamber as your skimmer and just follow the chart..
You dont need to be super accurate and overly complicate the process..

+1.....direct to DT
Go slow, test often, skim skim skim.
Keep in mind your messing with the bacteria count.

to me, carbon dosing manges nitrate mostly, I have seen a lesser effect on phosphate likley because there is less in the mix, but yes, it will lower this number. I never got beyond phosphate .1, I needed GFO to mop up the rest to .05, at which the green algae went pale and was easily removable.

Multiply vodka dose by 8.
