Paying a huge premium over retail for a first generation parameter tester is asinine IMO, especially as the product is coming from Neptune Systems. Part of the hype machine I guess. Purchasing from eBay with no warranty... no thanks. I’ll let the early adopters take the Trident through it’s paces before even considering it.

I'm going to be an early adaptor but I ordered mine through my LFS for MSRP.

I’m not discouraging others from being early adopters by any means and I’m excited to hear the pros and cons that we didn’t hear from beta testers due to Neptune’s NDAs.

I agree. Paying an eBay premium for something that’s temporarily scarce is idiotic to me.

That’s crazy to pay that much. Doing manual testing isn’t that bad. My take is that NS was looking at this initial rollout as a defacto stage 2 beta test. They released a very small number of units and haven’t implied it was due to production issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So is there going to be anyone left to buy the Mindstream?

Is there ever actually going to be a mindstream? Seems like it's been teased for years (even longer than Neptune teased the Trident).

Mr saltwater tank did a comparison of the Trident and Alkatronic [sp?] based on 4 months of use that was interesting. Seems to lean towards Trident.

I'm certainly no shill for Neptune, but if I'm going to buy into some kind of automated testing facility, I want it to be supported and truly thought through. It's one of the reasons that I had no plans to buy Trident in it's initial launch. I want to see how it does - already a few early impressions, but I want to know how it does over a period of weeks or even months.

Crazy that people won't just wait for more to come out as Neptune will be making more. Some just want the latest and greatest though.
