Surf 2 Algae scrubber no growth after 2 weeks
Hello,
I am interested in getting thoughts from anyone familiar with the Surf2 algae scrubber. I recently got back into the hobby and I have had mine setup for two weeks and have as yet seen no growth. My tank is fairly new, IE: 40 days. Below are the details. I started the tank with dry rock, live sand, and Dr. Tim's. I do a weekly 10% water change and am using Red Sea's Coral Pro salt. I started with two gladiator clowns and everything seems to be going well with the tank. I have since added two other fish, 5 hermit crabs and 5 snails. I had a week long diatom bloom but it wasn't bad and went away quickly. The tank parameters have been pretty consistently good although my nitrates are a little bit high at the moment. Current tank chemistry is as follows. Salinity 34.5 PPT Temp 78 PH 8.2 KH 10 MG 1350 Ammonia 0 Nitrites 0 Nitrates 5 CA 450 I feed the tank twice daily once with flakes and in the afternoon with 1/2 cube frozen. Could it be where I have placed it in the sump? I have attached some pics for reference. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N1O...ew?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LWT...ew?usp=sharing |
