Are these stress fractures?

I noticed this today in my sump. The picture is taken with a light shown at 90 degrees. Are these stress fractures? Will my sump burst because of these?

IMHO that seam is beginning to fail. When, that's the $1M Q. The askew hairline cracks is crazing. More experienced acrylic folks will have a better assessment.

Just start preparing to get a new sump or repair with putting in an acrylic solid square rod in the bottom for added strength. The hairline cracks in the seam may disappear when the WO4 solvent is applied when putting in the rod.

Just a wee story: I had a client on the 4th floor in a swanky condo in Yorkville. The first thing I noticed in his 400gal actylic DT...alot of bubbles in the seam on a 4' tall DT.

He signed a waiver of existing issue and potential of failure alleviating me of any liability as he decided to deal with it when it happens as my acrylic mfg basically said the same thing when he came to assess...just a matter of when.

I quit/fired him as a client after 2 years due other issues that I saw that would implicate me in liability and other BS on a 1000gal aquarium that his friend was building in his office not following specifications and materials in the design.

Needless to say, both aquariums failed catastrophically and avoided that crazy party.

Deal with the PITA issue soon or a ROYAL PITA later.

Do a search on “acrylic crazing”.

Does it extend into the weld?

Even if it does I don’t think it will turn into a structural problem anytime soon, especially in a sump.

Something to keep an eye on for salt creep but I don’t see it catastrophically failing.
