Nitrate target?

I had around 5ppm and had some algae issues on Monday April 27th and I used vibrant and now reads 0.5ppm so this actually worked and algae is gone. Did it work too good? I read somewhere that you can get an imbalance if under 2ppm. Anyone?

You should be good. Tanks mature and strike a balance over time. The chemistry is on the one hand basic but OTOH the biosystem gets increasingly complex over time, and they interact.
