Iodine and strontium question
Hey everyone,
I recently got my ICP test results and turns out my iodine levels are very low at .01. I have a bottle of brightwell aquatics lugols solution which is iodine. It says to dose 10 drops per day after I did the calculation. Does this seem like too much? Also I had strontium at 5.95 ppm. I don’t know a thing about strontium so any tips on keeping it all balanced?? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Strontium is 8ppm in NSW, so your 6ppm, not much of a flux but Salifert has a test and Seachem has the supplement.
Iodine, 10 drops, I don’t know your tank size, if small, likely will kill. If big, who knows. Again, Salifert has the test, but if you do want to maintain, keep it at 0.03-0.06, again NSW level I would never dose iodine to my DT, it can be unstable, build up, and kill. I would dose iodide (Seachem) which is much safer. As a reference only, I need to dose in my 65g, 2ml per day of each using Seachem, to maintain those values. |
