Xr15 rms tank mount issue.
Anyone know what’s the problem here? My light is at an angle and I’m unsure what’s the problem. Just bought rms Mount used

Never have seen or used before BUT -- Arm is not vertical.
Screw on front piece over the screen in 1st picture. Does that adjust the light in any way? Seems like it is pulling it forward.

Yeah I included the base part of the mount in second photo as I think that’s where the issue is I just don’t know why it’s leaning so much. Top of rim on tank might be sloped some and figure if nothing else I could put some kind of shim in so it doesn’t lean. Didn’t know if anyone with one recognized something I have wrong |

I’m wondering if the weight of the arm is bending the plastic tank rim inwards. Can you put a shim of some sort on the outside, between the glass and arm mount that would help it
lean back some? |

Cool. Yeah, kinda seems that the tighter you screw it down, the more it would bend the rim and make it lean forward... I had that same arm before, but it was on a rimless tank.

Yeah I’m thinking the arm is better on rimless tanks as it atleast seems like it would work better. I know either echo-tech or bulkreef supply had a video saying the longer extension could cause a slight angle and they demonstrated on a rimless tank but mine is at more than just a sight angle. |

No, the mount should be held on and secure to the back glass panel. It should not be secure on the rim Or whatever it’s on the top. It looks to me is that your top part is in a way to prevent the mount to be straight on the tank.

How about a small shim under the plastic trim on the inside of the tank? If the bottom of the mount isn’t secure against the glass, it might not support the light fully.
