We're an inventive lot---but if you have a bright idea---ask.

You may not know you've signed on for an interesting ride in biochemistry, ocean studies, invertebrate and vertebrate biology, plus animal behavior, etc, but the neat thing is---we've made a pretty safe path for your early ventures: giving you things like ideal chemistry readings, good tank size for what sort of residents, how to diagnose and prevent common problems, etc, all in the 'sticky' files atop this forum. Plus adjunct forums like 'fish disease' and 'equipment; and specific forums on coral types.

In short, there's a pretty good roadmap, and if you think you've thought up a good idea, a recycling notion, or have a question as to whether gobies are going to eat your hawkfish (or vice versa)---don't hesitate to post a question. You'll usually get a timely answer---I know I've worked some problems where us west-coasters just passed the problem on to Australia and Australia onward as the planet rotated into new dawns. We'll help and figure things out with you, so never feel deserted. Just give us good data and tell us what REALLY happened (we've all had topoff accidents)---and we'll sort it out.

Welcome to all you who've started this hobby with the quarantine, all who've restarted this hobby after a number of years and are wondering about changes, and those of you who are hoping to get into it. Ask BEFORE you take a step: saves time and fishes.

Most of all, welcome in. Read the stickies, because they'll answer questions you haven't thought of yet.

^^^What Sk8r said^^^

No need to reinvent the wheel (they work well) or the Edsel (they don't) so before you expend a bunch of time, effort, and $$$, ask! We are all happy to lend a helping hand.
