Sump design
Hi, group! I am trying to design the sump for my 90 gal tank. I am a total newbie and it seems I think about the sump like it is something similar to Mary Poppins' purse: everything fits inside.
I would like to have a fuge, a Clarisea filter and also an ATO chamber. Besides that, I do not have any fixed ideas. Attached, an image with an initial draft. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Well, I've been happy with my setups just using an empty tank and adding some maricultured live rock and/or live sand. I wouldn't bother with all those divisions and equipment. Here's two of my sumps and the tanks they're for:

Forest Rohwer's book "Coral Reefs in the Microbial Seas" (kindle ~$10) is an excellent introduction to complex roles of Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) and how it influences microbial processes and I would encourage you to get it. Thank you very much for your time! I have been wondering why is there so less information about microbial population on reefs... Everything is very focused on chemicals (I know it is important and basic to describe this habitat) but as a biologist, I would like to think microbiota has a major role in maintaining our aquaria.
I will study your comments in detail. Thank you again! |

Just in case it helps anyone searching for a layout, I will post my final design.
