skimmer ato question

I currently have a tunze osmolator which controls my auto top off water requirements. I would like to shut off my skimmer for half an hour a day while I dose certain things. The problem I have is when I turn the skimmer off the water fills up the sump which causes the tunze osmolator to alarm. Not sure if anybody can think of a workaround>

Get/make another mount for the upper float switch and set it to just above the water level when the skimmer is off.
