feeding the tank while cycling

am i supposed to feed the tank while cycling?

my first shipment came with (i think) 4 clams and a bunch of other things that may or may not need feeding.
what should i feed them (if i am supposed to)?

From the reading I have been doing I am planning on supplimenting with DT's Photoplankton from day 1, but then I am also going to try to keep my barnacles alive which I understand is pretty tough...

They will die unless you polute the tank.
