Stream blowing bubbles

Good day Roger. My 6060 is blowing blasts of bubbles at about thirty second intervals. It is well below the surface, and there is no whirlpooling above it. Is there a cure for this? Thanks, Jason.

Try cleaning it. Does it get worse as the day progresses? Basically no problem in the morning but after the lights are on it gets worse?

I clean it thoroughly to include removal of coraline once every couple of weeks by soaking it in 50%vinegar for a bit. I did it again after your reply but no improvment. It does not change through the day. I am stumped. What do you think that I should do to fix it? Thanks.

The only two other causes I can think of are gas saturation issues. With high intensity lighting and alot of algae or coral growth the water saturates with oxygen and this is identified by a problem worsening as the daylight hours continue and being almost non existant in the morning. The solution in this case is to reduce the photoperiod or remove some algaes. A reverse daylight refugia could add to the problem because there is constant oxygen production.

The other possibility is an excessive KH or dissolved CO2 from a calcium reactor is skewing the carbonic equilibrium and the gas is being removed in the pumps partial vacuum. Such a problem is constant until the KH is reduced or the excess CO2 is relieved.

You might also give it some time after cleaning, it can take a few days to remove all the bubbles from inside the magnet well, assembling the pump under water could alleviate this cause.

Now that I think about it this got bad after I went from an es5-3 to a cs8-2 which I would assume would up the dissolved O2. I am running a 30 gallon fuge lit 24/7. My corals are growing like weeds. It all makes sense now. I can handle a few bubbles if they are the result of the natural processes occuring in the system. Thanks Roger!
