Pyramid snail question

I have had my tank up for about 3-4 months. I just added my first clam today. I have noticed (before the clam was added) some small snails on my glass. They're about 1-2 mm and seem to be feeding on algae. Is there a chance that these could be pyramid snails (i.e. can pyramid snails live without a clam in the tank)? I currently have nassarius, cerith, turbo and astrea snails in the tank. The snails in question have a cerith or nassarius type shell. I have seen my nassarius snails mating, but no others. I can't find any pictures of pyramid snails, so I don't know what they look like.

What color are the small snails? Pyramid snails are clear but appear white, and are conical in shape. As far as I know each pyramid is species specific as to its host. It may be that you have a species of pyramid snail that preys on astrea snails.

Don't seem clear. Some are white. I've seen a few that are brown. They seem to be on the glass all the time, eating algae. I haven't seen any dead (astrea) snails.

Now that I look closer, it looks like most of the shells are brown. It looks like the less mature ones may still be white. Definitely not clear though. I see 2 antennae and a small mouth that seems to be eating algae. I only notice the snails on the glass (but that may be because they're easier to see).
