Nass snails

Last night my new clam was over run by the nass snails I just bought. There where little sponge like animals attached to the shell I cleaned them off and found what looked like a parasite snail. The only problem is it was larger than the stated size of a grain of rice. It was almost i have an inch. So just to be safe I chucked it. My ? is will the nass snails hurt the clam or clean him of this parasite.

take a look at www.melevsreef.com some where on there he has a pic of nassarius and predetory welks side by side. the similarites are crazy, i cant tell the difference. your best bet would be to get some real good pics of said snails and post them in the DR Ron forum.
