Red Sea Aquazone Ozone generator - repair help
found out that Red Sea has very poor customer service and could care less about their customers. maybe reef central can help me.
I lowered my unit for a short time while I rearranged some things and found that water was running through the system. I immediately emptied as much as possible and started to run 'dry' air through for a couple of days. seemed to work fine first couple days had the smell. after that the smell is gone and the unit needs repair. any ideas? I contacted Red Sea office in Texas and got no where, they confirmed it wasnt under warranty (no kidding) but refused to at least tell me where I could send it or what parts would had been affected. couldnt lift a finger. just wanted to know what parts and where I could locate them so I could have an electronics person repair it. Red Sea anything is off my list. Any help would be appreciated. $400 is alot to waste. By the way less than a year old. |

This happened to one of ours once. We let it dry out for a few days and tried to fire it back up and it didn't work. We opened it up and there was a fuse in there that had popped. We replaced the fuse and it has been working continuously for the last 6 months with no issues. Check the fuse inside. Just unscrew the four little screws on the bottom and see if the fuse is still good.

the system lights up but the ozone doesnt work - no smell. did the fuse shut the whole system down or just the ozone generation.
thanks for your reply. |

I took it apart. there is a round cylinder in the case with a wire that coils around inside it. carefully dismantle, clean the coil, and reassemble. it did the trick.
