ligthing photoperiod

What is the photoperiod that you`re following on your MH.

Currently I've got DE 250w over my tank at 11 hours a day. But was considering reducing the time each lamp is on per day from 11 to 8 hours per lamp.

If done this would be done very slowly...say like reducing 15 minutes o light every 2 weeks until reaching the 8 hour mark. Of course only if this is beneficial to the clams.

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Omar

Aside from the obvious (most keep each bulb on for ten hours) there is a noticeable preference for having your lights on for a number of even hours over odd.

Thanks to all for sharing.

I have my MH on for 6 hours and the actinic VHO's on for 12 hours. I am going to get rid of one actinic and add a 10K or 50/50 VHO. Clams are doing great and the squammy growing a little fast.
