Question clam has brown spots?

My has brown patches on it. What is it from? Not enough light? or bad water quality? It's under 400w, and T5's. at the bottom in the sand. don't really know what type of clam it is but think it's a maxima.

water prams are all good. Tank is a 180 sps, with good skimming. the corals in the pictures are not touching the coral, as I just moved him there last night from an open area. Have to do some rearranging tonight.

hope this works

Do crocea need lots of light? I am a little leary of putting him on the rock, because I don't want him to get attached. I also have alot of sps that doesn't leave much room. I guess if I want to keep him happy, I'd better do it. Is he just losing colour because of lack of light?

Croceas are the most light demanding of all the giant clams.they need more light then you highest light corals, they house 10 time the zoox per sq inch then your corals.they are found in shallow water in the reef crest, and like to be attached to the rocks

I didn't see the pic of when you first got him however the pictures I can see look like a very normal crocea color. Also he is a rock dweller, I would get him to attatch to a small rock that you could move around to get him to an area that works for you and him.
