Flame Angel or Coral beauty HMMMMM

We are undecided as to add a Coral Beauty or a Flame Angel to our tank. As far as fish in our tank we have;
Marroon Clown
Dominoe Damsel
Yellow Tail Damsel
Zebra Damsel
2 Cleaner Shrimp
Assorted snails and Crabs

Corals;
Open Brain
Frog Spawn
Sun Polyp
Colt
Rose Tip Anemone
Which one would you think would adapt to these surroundings.
Thanks Andy

I had a coral beauty that did well with my corals, with the exception of my xenia.

flames are gorgeous but may nip on your corals
not sure on the coral beauty
since they are both small angels
they both may nip at your corals

Flame Angel definately.

Beware they might nip at your corals. Mine has, but so far he only likes open brains.

Well, I just battled this decision as well. I just got this specimen today. Coral Beauty. It was much cheaper than the flame and the colors are amazing on both. Simply hope he is not a nipper of corals as mentioned.

neither...i think both are over done...if i had to choose i would choose flame...but take a look at potters angels..they are awesome once they color out and are supposed to be "safer" for reefs

Yeah I would choose the flame if I had to, but I think any of the gencanthus angels are the safest. Ever thought about a bellus angel?

The CB is small. Maybe 2 inches. Prety though.

Coral beauty definitely. Never had a nipping problem. Very active in the tank and brilliant colors. Does not bully my other fish. I have had both and the CB IMO was a more active fish.

I'd be concerned about the clown and damsels harrasing the angel- I had a lemon damsel decide it didn't like my coral beauty and harrased it to death (I removed the angel to a second tank, but it was too late to save it). You might be ok with a 125, but I wanted to at least throw in that note of caution.

HTH and good luck!

I vote for both, I have a Flame, Coral beauty, Cherub, lemon peel, & a Potters. They all do great together.

Note the word "usually" ... Coral beauty is usually "reef safe". I just spent a weekend taking ALL the rock out of my tank to catch a Coral Beauty that went "postal". He didn't bother the sps, but suddenly thought all softies were now the new buffet. He weneet back to the store.

Don't know if I would mix pygmy angels.. unless I had a 14' reef! Oh, you have one... well nevermind then

My Flame Angel has decided that it HATES cleaner shrimp... it relentlessly nips at them, but has not touched any corals (yet).

Agreed. I've tried really hard not to stock all the same fish it seems like everyone else has. My potters has now been in my tank for 5 weeks and is doing excellent. He's buddies with my Scopas.

Another vote for the Coral Beauty.
I think they have stunning colouration.
Mine is very active in the tank - always swimming through the rockwork, and comes up to the front glass to check out visitors. I've never seen it nip at my corals, it does not bully my other fish, and is close friends with the Yellow Tang.
Oh, and it eats *everything* I offer the tank

flame, your tank is pretty aggressive, damsels, maroon clown, eventually they will want to beat up on the angle. The Flames are a bit tougher.

Can you have more than one of the dwarf angels in a 90??? I like to have a few of them but don't want them to fight with each other...

OK fess up... Who's keeping several of them together in their 90 or less!!

Chris
