I have that set up and the ballast does have a slight buzz to it. I keep the ballast in the basement.

Geo, your wires were long enough to keep the ballast in the basement or did you extend them? I'd love to move them away from my tank. The buzzing is so annoying. Thanks.

Dom

They were long enough. The light fixture is about 54" off of the floor and I can move it up about another 12-16" from there. If I were to move the ballast up into the floor joist it would be no issue for any height.
I did not move it into the basement due to the noise, I just wanted it down there and out of the way.

I hope it wasn't bulb or ballast related!

I thought it was only a fire in there warehouse. There website doesn't say anything about them burning down. Though the return would still have been a problem.
