I don't know what one I should get. Help me out. 110 Gal set up.
In sump Skimmer. Do they work the same? Is it worth the extra money? Thanks !! |

They work the same, but the ER is made from higher quality materials (cast acrylic), and is hand crafted, rather than injection molded. The ASM is made from extruded pvc, and cheaper made. Either one works fine though. To me, the ER was worth the extra money. I run an ASM on one of my tanks, and ER's on my other tanks.

i run a ER 8-2 on my 135g and an ASM g2 on my 72g. The ER is well made but its not like your buying an italian sports car its a freaking skimmer for cryin out loud. If you own a hummer because everyone else on your block owns one then get the ER if not save your money and put it tothe gate valve mod and the rec. mod that help make these skimmer work even better.

Definetly get the gate valve mod. I have an ASM g1 without that mod and it is a pain to adjust. I also have a Lifereef which I love.

I have been very happy with my ASM G3. Skims like crazy. Recirc mod is unbelievably awesome.
