Need help with hair algae outbreak!!
It started out as 3 little patches and has exploded ever since I tried to scrape it off about 3 months ago. I have tried emeralds with no success what so ever. Is there anything else I can do? Removing rock and scraping is out of the question as multiple corals are attached. It has taken over my clam as well. HELP!!

got rid of mine after 8 months using a deltec fr509 with rowaphos ,dissapeared after about a month after slowly fading away after a week of installing.
Obviously not guaranteed in your case but I had tried most biological weopons ie urchins sea hare etc but until I introduced the deltec nothing would shift it. Once deteriorated the algae was finished off with the longspine urchin. HTH |
