XM 10K, DE vs SE to SPS?

XM 10K, DE vs SE.
Is the any different from SE vs DE on XM 10K bulbs?

Maybe I will try one over my frag tank and see what happend and the different from Giesemann 14.5 K Megachrome.

I am curious by the colour and growth variation on my SPS.

Thanks.

God dag Morten

I plugged some data into Sanjay's reef lighting calculator, and indeed there is a big difference.

I'm a big fan of the XM SE, both in 400 and 250. The 400 on HQI has a CCI of over 13k with amazing PAR.

Try the calculator to plot SE vx DE

Okay guys, so you are telling me that two bulbs with the same Kelvin from the same manufacturer don't have the same colour = Kelvin?

Which bulb will you recommend for a fragtank? DE or SE?

Thanks.

I ran DE for about 7 months and just didnt like the yellow. My friend has SE and his is more white. Plus the par for the two doesn't even compare. The SE bulb is far superior than the DE.

I've since switched to Phoenix 14K DE... Love the look of this bulb, but took a month to get used to the blue from the yellow of the XM DE.
