Cyano problem, but only in refugium...

Well, this is really weird!!!

In my tank everything is good, all water perameters are excellent!
All corals are happy (LPS+SPS), all fish are happy!

BUT, in my refugium I am having a cyano problem.
It just keeps spreading!!!
what can I do?

This is the first time I have ever encountered cyano.

I added flow today to the refugium, what else?

how long do you run you light on the sump , try cutting back for a lil, check for anything in the sump that may be adding phos.

Well, the light in the refugium runs for 13 hours when the main lighting doesn't work. i.e. against each other.

I don't have anything there that would be adding phosphate, in fact i have a phosban reactor and my phosphate is 0!

What do u suggest i do?
cut back my refugium lighting times?
to how long instead of 13 hours?

I had the same thing in mine, left the lights off for 2 days with no ill effects, cyano was gone.

What I meant is that neither the cheato, nor any other living creatures suffered from the "extended" darkness. I do it once in a while now as a precaution.

I have red slime that goes crazy in my sump. Turns the cheato into red slime all over. I have no problems in my tnak only the sump. I clean it every 2 months or so. alwasy comes back and never causes a problem in the tank so i dont worry about it. I guess thats what it is there for. Rather it grow down there then in my tank.
