RO/DI auto topoff

What does everyone think about an RO/DI auto topoff? I'm having someone come over soon to install the ro/di system and we were thinking about also installing the auto topoff for the sump.

Are there any potential risks with this? I'd be a bit apprehensive when I was away for extended periods of time if the switch didn't trip and it kept filling and already full sump.

Is it even worth all the stress of having to consdier all these things?

Make an autotoff of but seperate from your RO/DI. That way you only have to make enough to last you a week then make some again. Beats making water everyday and then you don't have a flooded house.

Lot's of ways to make these. I have made many, so let me know if you want some advice.

A 32g bucket hooked up to a floatswitch would be much better. Especially if you leave to go on vacation, you'd at maximum put 32g (or however many gallons of water your container holds) in your tank instead of 75-100 gallons per day.

I think I'm going to instruct to simply instal the RO/DI unit and perhaps if I decide sometime later down that road that I want the auto topoff for going on vacations etc. then I'll have them come install that.

Victor Hugo made no botanical pretensions and I make none whatsoever when it comes to plumbing my friend =P
Although, in all seriousness, you're probably dead right. It didn't appear to be too complicated at all.

In any event, it's a 4-stage Corallife Pure-Flo II up and it's up and running properly (I hope).
