my RBTA doesn't like bright light

my RBTA has been in tank just over a week. every time i think he's settled, well he's not. stays put in dark and w/ VHO's on, but when MH kick on he's off somewhere else. he came from a week lit tank, i acclimated him to my lights very slowly and still have eggcrate on top. yesterday when MH came on he took off towards back and made his way up to overflow slots. i got home just in time and for first time, manually removed him and placed him in a nice moderately lit areas w/ moderate flow. MH just came on and he's on move again. i cannot keep MH off due to SPS who need them. what's his deal? anyone experience this? he's WELL fed, and i make it a point to feed him silversides when he's in a good spot. besides that he gets mysis everyday.
