Tetra Aquasafe making my skimmer go nuts?
Just moved my 72g reef and didn't have time to hook up my RO unit so I had to use some Tetra Aquasafe. My skimmer has been going crazy for the past two days..I'm assuming it's from the aquasafe as it only started after this. When will it stop, I figured after two days it would be done but my skimmer overflows within 10 seconds of plugging in my ASM G3.

Yep, any dechlorinator and some medications/additives will cause your skimmer to go nuts. You can try lowering the standpipe on your skimmer to the very bottom or you could just leave the skimmer off for 3 days.
Get that RO/DI hooked up soon! |

Skimmer is still going crazy... I put a PURA filtration pad in yesterday thinking maybe that would help but it still overflows within 5 seconds on being plugged in.
When is this going to stop so I can use my skimmer?! |

My skimmer is still going nuts...not quite as bad as before but it's still doing it!!
I still don't have my RO unit hooked up so I"m just using tap water that sits for 24 hours....could something be in my water that is making this still happen? |
