Kind of expensive, but how about something like this?
http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...dproduct=AQOL4 I think it would look cool suspended above a 10g and you could mount it high enough it wouldn't dump too much heat into the tank. Otherwise you are probably looking at a power compact fixture of some kind. I haven't seen any 18-20 inch VHO/T5 fixtures out there (they have 18"bulbs, but I haven't seen fixtures unless you want to retrofit).

Would it be better to get vho/t5 than to get PC's pricewise cause I dont want to spend alot of money if I dont really need it.
Where could i find the retrofits for the 18" bulb u were talking about?site (that is if it would be better to get retrofit vho/t5 than PC's) |

PC's are vho and t5s are more expensive.
my 10 gallon i just bought a 2x32w 15" retro setup. I would also recommend a 70w MH (my 15 has a 70w MH w/ 2x18w pcs). Try to get 7+ watts per gallon for sps's |

PC's are not VHO... Two different animals. I don't think you can fit T5's or VHO's over your tank unless you have a spacious canopy to mount them into. I would just go with a single halide if you want to go cheap.

umm, www.nano-reef.com has a used equipment section where you can get um for a good price ($120 - $140 shipped)
or www.nanotuners.com>DIY lighting>70w MH for $140 but it doesnt come with reflector and 14k or 20k bulbs are extra and shipping is from cali With the MH i recommend a PC supplement tho. I use the 2x18w actinics from nanotuners. Btw, building a canopy is simple. Im doing it tomorrow for a 10 gallon. |

they'll ship for $22.
for $145 plus shipping you can get... 1 x 70w Fulham Highhorse 70 MH Ballast - M85 2 x Ceramic "Deluxe" Endcaps - 4KV Pulse Rated 1 x 70w Aqualine 10000K (13000) Like i said, convince someone from here or nano-reef.com to ship to you and you can get a whole setup for a good price. Remember, when getting a MH you need the reflector and UV sheild along with the light |

honestly im not too sure.
Also you probably would wanna upgrade the bulb to a 14k or 20k. UV sheild is just a piece of glass to put infront of the bulb so UV doesnt get into the tank. Like i said, i got mine from the used equipment forums. $140 shipped (USPS 2-3 day) i got a 70w MH retro, bulb clips and wiring, w/ reflector and UV sheild, brand new 10k, and 14k. 2 months old. |

10k = white
14k = white w/ little blue 20k= white w/ blue Also, like i said before, the 2x18w retro is nice cause it allows me to run my light cycle with daylight for 2 hours then the 70w for 5-6 hours then the actinic for 2 hours after the MH and Daylight go off. giving it a blacklight look and an early evening feel for the fish. The bed time |
