salt

which salt is the best. I am currently using tropic marin for about a year but am reading that is better salt out there. i mix my own in two 40 gallon rubbermaid trash cans with ro water. just want to make sure i am give my tank inhabitants the best quality. Any help would be great.

Tropic Marin is a fine mix. So are several others. I doubt you'll find any convincing evidence about which is "best" although there are some that I wouldn't recommend. I use Instant Ocean.
