Coralife Super Skimmer

Does anyone have any experience/opinions about this skimmer. Also can anybody tell me how to get it to make dry skimmate?
thanks

yeah i have one and it works great. we also use them at the shop they are amazing on how they seem to work. make sure that the bubbles are just below the section where it begins to form the curve for best results

Thanks for the input. Sometimes when I clean it the whole reaction chamber fills with micro bubbles. Is this normal?

yes it's normal just make sure they aren't coming out in the tank while it's running.

I have been running mine about a week. It seems to work ok. If you hang it on the back of your tank you might need to replace the foam in the diffuser box with some different material to prevent micro bubble in your tank. Otherwise it seems to pull out some pretty stinky stuff.

i also have one, and like it. I had to do some mods though. Pretty simple actually. I cut the output tubing so it was just barely underwater. I replaced the bottom foam peice in the diffuser with some different foam. I made sure that the top of the diffuser was out of the water. And best of all, make sure that your pump is as close to the top as possible (without drawing air).

I have the 220 on my 72 bow and did the above mentioned mods and it works great. I actually have mine hanging on my sump not in sump. Eliminates any problems with micro bubbles if they do occur.

I shut mine down for a few hours after I feed. I actually shut down the return pump for half hour so the power heads move the food around in the tank before heading to the sump. Most of the food is eaten that way.

I also get about a cup a day, not thick, but dark. I have mine on my tank with no sump. so water levels can really affect it. I just try and keep on top of top offs, and continuously adjust the skimmer.
