anyone ever think u MIGHT have a leak?
i don't know what i have but i hope it's not a leak. i have a 92 corner AGA on wood stand, on basement floor, carpeted over concrete slab. i was aware floor was off 1/8", not much at all, before getting tank. i notice inside stand, on glass, underside of bottom glass, in corner, watery salt accumulates. when i first noticed it about a month ago, it was watery salt, now it's more like regular salt w/ about a 2" salt iceicle looking thing. this area is also above sump overflow, which is enclosed, from hose to sump top, which covers overflow sock area of sump. besides this area, sump is open. i'm hoping this watery salt/salt is just from mist. alot of bottom part of glass inside stand has alittle salt creep, but there's noticably more in this area, along corner/seam. i inspected tank and sealing thoroughly and found no evidence of a leak anywhere. anyone ever experience something similar? only way i'm tearing down my masterpiece, is if i am 100% sure there is a leak which i can see. i try not to worry about it but i keep thinking about it. if i actually see or saw water leaking anywhere i would take action. i do not see this and i've been watching closely for about a month.

I think I have a leak sometimes too,
it seems like I have to top off an awful lot, and I look suspiciously at my salt creep too. I'm always checking the carpet and salinity. but for the past month it seems like I'm losing water somewhere but I cant find it and my salinity doesn't change.

Yeah I had the same thing, but then I found that a pump was pumping small amounts of water down the front of my glass and it dryed in the cracks between the glass and the trim of the tank

I bought a 55g great lakes tank for a sump a few years ago.and i noticed some months later that were was alot moist salt creep at the bottom coming out on one side through the plastic frame.I'm pretty sure it was leaking(seeping),but sealed it self up as its been over a year since i've seen it.
But my 7 year old 90g started doing the same thing at about 6-1/2 yrs old and kept getting worse.

i'm thinking of re-sealing this area. it comes from area near where sealing and plastic meet.
- what happened to the 90? |
