Help W/ MRC setup

Need help setting up my MRC-2. I was told its better to have the skimmer not in the sump but above the sump? Also was told that I should have the overflows drain right into the skimmer, how do I hook up two drains into my skimmer (wye fitting?)

pic of my drains as of now

I have room behind the tank (on the stand) to place the skimmer and the pump (Gen-x 55)

please advise

Are you wanting to put both drains into your skimmer pump?

You can't run the drains into an MR-2. If you have a MR-2R, then you can run a drain into it.

I have mine in sump with two 1" drains pour right down into the opening of the pump....it's the best I could do to get all the overflow into my MR-2. It does suck in some bubbles, but I use a filter sock.

No, I don't hve the recirc. model just an MR-2 with the quick release.

yes I want to put my two drains into or I guess as near as possible into my skimmer.

Does this mean I will have to place it in the sump?

it doesn't matter to me where it is I have room for both apps but I was told it works better if it is above the sump?

Here's a pic of the skimmer

Regardless whether it's in sump or out, just have the pumps intake drawing the water from the resivour where the drain water is coming into the sump, should be fine.
