Kalkwasser question
I read that Kalkwasser will precipitate out phosphates. It this true or BS? And, If my calcium levels are consistently ~500 is kalk dosing not a good idea to do?

Bumping your post takes you off the unanswered list.
Lime might be able to precipitate phosphate under some circumstances. From: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/20...f/index.php#15 "Many reefkeepers accept the concept that adding limewater reduces phosphate levels. This may be true, but the mechanism remains to be demonstrated. Craig Bingman has done a variety of experiments related to this hypothesis, and has published them in the old Aquarium Frontiers. While many aquarists may not care what the mechanism is, knowing it would help to understand the limits of this method, and how it might best be employed." You should wait for the calcium to drop to 450 or lower until you start dosing any calcium supplement. Do watch the alkalinity in the mean time!
