VHO Lighting question.

I just bought a pfo vho retro. My question is do vho super actinic's take a little while to "break in" or after 5 min are they as bright as they get. Also, My bulbs tend to get dark almost as though the lamp stops working when my hand gets close to the bulb or when I touch the bulb, Is this normal? Did I put the fixture together wrong?

Thanks

Glad you figured it out. VHO's are instant on in most cases and do not have a heat up time like halides.

Yup, I am a dummy and didn't think to turn the bulbs in the waterproof endcaps. I am glad to have ordered VHO's for actinic suplimentation. I really had no idea t5 actinics lacked so much.
