Question on tank cost; 600gallon

How much would you pay for a 600gallon acrylic tank? My buddies and I ran across a 600gallon tank and we are thinking about buying it, just wanted to know what we should pay for it.

Precision Clarity makes very good aquariums and as far as price goes they are very market competitive.

Sweet, I think I'm getting a good deal for this tank. This chick is getting a divorce and is getting rid of the tank for a GOOD price. It needs to be buffed out some, how much do you think that would cost?I also need to get the dimensons for it.

Damn thats alot. But i guess its the 1nch. If i wanted to know what to pay i would call my local acrylic maker www.socalcreations.com (they are local for me) and see what they would get to build a tank out of 1nch this size.

My main things is I'm probably going to buy it and turn around and sell if for a profit. I just want to see what a fair price would be when I turn around and sell it.

That's a pretty risky investment. I don't think there is much of a market for a 600 gallon tank. If someone is in the market for something like that they would probably have it custom built anyway.

I agree. If someone can afford to buy the equipment, stock it, and pay the ongoing costs for upkeep, I'd wonder if they would really get a used tank to begin with. You may have to sit on it for a while. JMO.

Good luck with it.

How think is the acrylic? If its 1" then you should be able to unload it for $1200-$1500. If its 3/4 then I'd say $800-$1000 best guess. I'm also assuming its in good condition.

I'm only paying 200 for it. It needs to be buffed and there is a crap load of coraline on it. I figure if I can make a few hundred off of it than it was worth it.

Im sure you can make some money on it but its not going to be a quick sale. It also cost me 100 to buff a 125g tank out. So a 600 im sure is going to cost 2-300 to have someone buff it out to a like new good condition. And mine didnt have coraline in it. LIke people have said not to many people have room or can afford to setup a 600g tank. Its not as easy to sell as say a 60-90g tank. I think you might get stuck with it for awhile or maybe ebay. But by the time they pay shipping on that big of a tank and your price might not be such a good idea. Think about it first.

How badly is it scratched up? Can you get any pics of the tank to post? I may be willing to purchase it if it's not in rough shape, and hook you up with a few hundred dollar finders fee . Is it just the tank, or is she selling everything?
