ro unit questions

I am looking at a unit from buckeye field supply(prem.unit).100G.P.D.

1. do diff. units have diff. amounts of waste water

2. how much pressure is needed for the unit to shut off auto. or do i have to run a booster pump....

Most units waste 4 to 1. So for ever y 1 gallon of good you get 4 galons of waste. I would highly recommend you get the 75 GPD version and not the 100 GPD. There is a huge difference in the water quality, 90% vs 98% removal efficiency. You should have about 50 psi to feed the unit for best efficiency. It will probably work OK down to 40 psi but won't produce as much water.
Good choice with Buckeye by the way. They use Dow Filmtec membranes and other high quality components.

You can't go wrong with Walter at airwaterice either. If I recall, the primary drivers for reject rate are incoming pressure and temperature of the water. Colder water has a higher reject rate. Our 75GPD RO/DI unit is more efficient in the summer months.

I'm sure AZDesertRat has better information on the temperature correlation effects.
