Macro grows better in sand or on rocks?

I just bought an assortment of macro-algae. 2 kinds of Calupera and some other very wirery grass looking stuff. Will it grow better in the sand or should I put on rocks to grow?

Also, will Mex Turbo's eat this macro algae?

Thanks!

It depends on which ones you have.
For sand,rubble,or rock,
c. prolifa-flat blade..corkscrew
c.mexicana-fern like
c.racemosa - grape
c.peltata- straight stem,lolypop top
c. sertulariodes -bird's feather
c.verticllta - looks like grapes stacked on top of each other
c.serulata -saw blade
For mud or silt,
c.paspaloides -palm tree
c. cupressoides - square blades with saw tooth edges
c. lanuginosa -fat round rod(looks like spruce tree branch

Hope this helps.
Clay
