High Magnesium
Does anyone know how to lower magnesium levels?.....My tank is at over 1700 ppm with all other parameters at normal levels.....And does anyone know what excessive levels of magnesium will do to the inhabitants?

The only way to lower magnesium rapidly is via water changes with a normal or low magnesium salt mix (say, Instant Ocean).
![]() Exactly what levels cause a problem has not been demonstrated that I am aware of, but I'd bring it down. These articles may help: Magnesium in Reef Aquaria http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/oct2003/chem.htm Water Changes in Reef Aquaria http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-10/rhf/index.php
